Orange and Almond Angel Food Cake

  2. Whip one cup of the whipping cream until stiff peaks have formed then refrigerate.

    Filling: For the orange custard sauce heat 1/4 cup of the orange juice in a double boiler. Add to the beaten egg yolk; put back in double boiler. Add in the sugar, cornstarch and 1 1/4 cup remaining orange juice. Cook this mixture until it has thickened. Add in the butter and salt. Cool in refrigerator. When this has cooled completely fold in the whipping cream (the 1 cup you whipped earlier).

    Whip the remaining 2 cups of whippcream cream with 4 Tablespoons of powdered sugar. Set aside.
