How many ways have you prepared sweet potatoes &#8212; sweet potato pie, sweet potato casserole with marshmallows or nut topping, or rosemary baked sweet potato wedges (yum, these are the greatest). I just came across this recipe today for <a href=\"https:\/\/myfrenchkitchen.wordpress.com\/2008\/11\/17\/sweet-potato-wrapped-in-bacon-and-sage\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sweet Potato Sticks<\/a> wrapped in bacon and sage. I will be trying these soon. They look wonderful. What doesn&#8217;t taste good with bacon wrapped around it.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever thought of making sweet potato biscuits and using some of that holiday ham for an appetizer. Using a stand mixer, you just throw everything in the mixer until blended.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3290\" title=\"IMG_0188\" src=\"http:\/\/rosemaryandthegoat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_0188-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0188\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rosemaryandthegoat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_0188-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rosemaryandthegoat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_0188-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After kneading a few times with a little flour on a flour dusted mat and rolling to about 3\/4&#8243; thickness, use a 1&#8243; biscuit cutter and cut out your biscuits.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3292\" title=\"IMG_0202\" src=\"http:\/\/rosemaryandthegoat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_02021-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0202\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rosemaryandthegoat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_02021-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rosemaryandthegoat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/IMG_02021-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes I use ham that I have left over from baking a ham and sometimes I buy ham from the deli, cut in thin pieces and ruffle it on the biscuit. I usually put these together the day before a party and then all they need is a pop in the oven for about 10-15 minutes to warm up.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"recipe\"><\/div><div class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">orange marmalade<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t \t \t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instructions-container\">\n\t\t<h3 class=\"wprm-recipe-header\">Instructions<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-group\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol class=\"wprm-recipe-instructions\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Put the flour and sugar into a stand mixer bowl, add in the shortening and butter and mix only until you have about pea size pieces. Add in the sweet potatoes and milk. Mix until just blended.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Turn the dough out onto a floured board and knead the dough a little using a little more flour if needed. Roll out to about 3\/4\" thick. Cut biscuits with 1\" biscuit cutter. Put the biscuits on either a silpat, parchment or\u00a0 sprayed cookie sheet. Bake for about 15-20 minutes at 400\u00b0 until a little brown on top and bottom.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Slice the biscuits, add some ham and orange marmalade. Either pop back in the oven for a few minutes to warm everything together or put them in baking dish, cover with foil until you are ready to serve them either that day or the next.
